Residential Support Workers needed
by Ethan Paquet
“We have several openings for Residential Support Workers at the moment,” says Bethany MacArthur, HR Generalist. “We are currently looking for passionate, caring, and energetic individuals to fill full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
“We are looking for people who are team players, who might have previous experience or education in working with individuals with cognitive or physical challenges in a human service setting serving vulnerable populations.”
Residential Support Workers are responsible for supporting clients by maintaining and promoting their well-being through physical care, menu planning, meal preparation, medication administration, and day-to-day house management. They also develop and monitor client case plans to fulfill the health, safety, and personal care requirements for each client.
“The minimum qualification is a diploma in a Human Services, Youth Worker, or Resident Care Worker/Licensed Practical Nursing program, or a university degree in the Human Services field such as a degree in psychology or sociology.”
Wages and benefits
“The starting wage for full-time staff is $22.46 per hour and ranges up to $26.77. Our rate for casual workers is $21.60. Full-time staff receive benefits such as group insurance, pension, vacation time and paid time off.”
How to apply
“Job postings are listed on our website. Candidates are asked to send us a copy of their resumé, and anyone selected will receive a phone call to come in for an interview with a Residential Supervisor and an HR Representative.
“For those who are successful in the interview stage, we request to contact their employment references. Then hopefully it will lead to a job offer. Criminal background checks and a driver’s abstract will be requested after an offer is accepted.”
