RBC is Canada’s largest bank. On PEI, RBC employs over 50 staff who work out of four branches and an RBC Dominion Securities office.
RBC offers a range of career opportunities. Employees often start at a customer service level, which introduces them to the bank’s many products and services and allows them to work with clients face-to-face.
Li Yuan has been in Canada for 16 years, graduating from the business program at McGill/Concordia University in Montreal.

Eight years ago, she started with RBC on PEI as a Customer Service Representative (now called Client Advisor), moved to Account Manager, and three years later became an Associate Commercial Account Manager, and then moved to Commercial Account Manager in two years. Now she is a Market Manager, Sales Support. She says there are lots of opportunities at RBC if you work hard, and there is lots of support.

Frank Chen is a Commercial Account Manager for RBC PEI. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Finance in Accounting in 2005.
He is from China and has lived on PEI for five years with his wife and three children. He started with RBC a very short time ago and says all is going very well.
His career in China was in leadership roles at very young age, with the most recent as CEO and Vice President of a hotel management group with more than 2,000 employees. Prior to his present position, he worked for three years at a Canadian law firm.
“The qualifications that work best for me to be employed at RBC are my education, sales, and financial experience,” says Frank. “I didn’t have any banking experience coming into this job, but based on my past experience and education, I have related transferable skills from working in the fields of law, accounting, and the hotel industry.”
