Experienced small engine repair Mechanic needed

Gaudet’s Engine Repair Ltd. in Tignish is looking to hire an experienced Mechanic to do repairs on lawn and garden equipment, outboards, and ATVs.

The shop is owned and operated by Rodney and Tanya Gaudet. Rodney is a Red Seal Motorcycle Mechanic and a Red Seal Agriculture Mechanic.

The business opened in 2011 in Tignish and moved and expanded to the current location at 15 Old Western Rd, Tignish in 2017. “We recently did an expansion to our showroom to offer a more enjoyable shopping experience for our customers with more products available,” Rodney says.

Services offered

They sell Mercury outboard motors, CFMOTO ATVs, Toro lawn and garden equipment, and Echo power equipment and accessories. They also service all makes and models of ATVs, outboard motors, motorcycles, forklifts, tractors, lawn and garden equipment, snowblowers, snowmobiles, generators, chainsaws, and more. They also inspect motorcycles.

Hiring needs

“We are currently seeking to hire an experienced Mechanic,” says Rodney. “This is the one position we struggle to fill. With a growing business, we need someone with experience in the mechanical repair of the equipment we sell.

“The applicant should also have strong computer skills. Some training can be provided inhouse, but we are looking for someone who already has experience in the industry.”

“We would like the candidate to be a team player, and a positive attitude and willingness to learn is important,” says Tanya.

“We have an excellent work environment and would welcome the right person to join our team and help serve our loyal customers,” says Rodney.

Wages and bonuses

Wages start at $20/hour plus, depending on experience. They offer a signing bonus and an additional bonus for work performance throughout the year.

“We would like to have resumés emailed directly to us or dropped off in person,” says Tanya. “On the resumé we would like to see in detail their work experience, training, and what certificates they have earned. We would also like to see references with contact information.”
