Holland College Adult Education is for those who wish to upgrade academic marks or obtain a credit to be accepted into a program of choice.

  • Learn in a supportive and friendly environment and get closer to accomplishing your goals!
  • Complete and upgrade high school credits.
  • Prepare to write the GED exam.
  • Attend during the day or evening.
  • Applicants must be graduated from high school or 18 years of age
  • There is no tuition cost if you are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, thanks to our funding partners

GED Preparation – The GED Preparation class helps you prepare for the GED exam by providing a general review of basic academic skills.  Subjects include writing, social studies, science, literature and mathematics.  The GED exam gives adults who have not graduated from high school the opportunity to earn a high school equivalency certificate.

Anyone interested in GED must first write the Official Practice Test, free of charge. To sign up for a practice test in Charlottetown and East, contact Sharon Campbell at 902-566-9628 or email scampbell@hollandcollege.com.

In Summerside and West, contact Susan Williamson at 902-888-6495 or email sawilliamson@hollandcollege.com.

High School Credits – You can acquire high school credits or upgrade existing marks to meet the admission requirements of post-secondary institutions, or to complete requirements for the PEI High School Graduation Certificate for Mature Students.

For the 2022-2023 school year, Adult Education will be offering a day program and night program with an earlier start date in September. There will also be more delivery options for students regardless of location or schedule.

Night classes will have two terms with start dates on August 22, 2022, and January 9, 2023. These will be offered in an online format. This is a great option for the full-time worker who wants to be able to attend classes but is restricted due to a current work schedule.

The day class program will have three terms with start dates on September 6, November 21, 2022, and February 13, 2023. This program will offer both in person and online options for all credits. In person classes will be held at Holland College locations in Charlottetown, Summerside, Scotchfort, and West Prince.

The GED program is offered as an in-person program at five locations of Holland College in Charlottetown, West Prince, Summerside, Scotchfort, and Georgetown.
