August 5, 2022 – Government of Canada: Canadian cities and towns flourish when they have community public spaces that promote social interaction and physical activity, and provide access to recreational programs and facilities.
These amenities are integral to the overall well-being of individuals, families and communities. Our economic recovery is closely linked to the vitality of our local communities and their shared spaces.
Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages and Minister responsible for ACOA, announced total investments of $1,300,000 for two revitalization projects to support the 2023 Canada Winter Games in Prince Edward Island. Sean Casey, Member of Parliament for Charlottetown, also took part in the event.
A non-repayable contribution of $1,000,000, through ACOA’s Innovative Communities Fund (ICF), to the 2023 Canada Winter Games Host Society Inc., will support investments in essential infrastructure, sports equipment, athlete accommodation, as well as the visitor safety and facility upgrades required to ensure the success of the 2023 Canada Games.
